A takeaway in Leyland was handed a new two-out-of-five food hygiene rating.
Charcoal Grill, a takeaway in Chapel Brow, was given the score following an assessment on September 26. The Food Standards Agency scores businesses from zero to five based on how hygienically food is handled, the condition of the facilities/buildings, and how the business manages/records what it does to make sure food is safe. It means that of South Ribble’s 109 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 100 have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
Local authorities are responsible for enforcing food hygiene laws and can inspect a business at any point in the food production and distribution process. Authorised officers from the local council will visit the premises to check the business is complying with food law and producing food that is safe to eat.
