Police say a boy was arrested after the reported incident
A teenager escaped injury after a firework was reportedly put inside her school blazer pocket on Wednesday.
"We are warning of the potential dangers of fireworks following an incident yesterday where a teenage girl escaped injury after a firework was placed in her school blazer pocket in Newry," a PSNI spokesperson said. "Playing with fireworks can have serious or even fatal consequences if they are not used safely. We are encouraging parents and young people to think about the consequences of their actions and learn the law."
