A judge has suspended a prison sentence
A teenage girl described by her family as a 'princess' was killed when her best friend lost control of a car she was driving while 'clowning around' on a road, a court heard. Tayla King, 20, had only held a driving licence for 33 days at the time of the crash.

"Losing Chantelle has had a devastating impact of the whole family and everyone who knew her, we didn't get the verdict we feel we deserved as we haven't had closure to what happened and never will as Tayla still refuses to give an explanation to what really happened which is extremely hurtful to us a family as she was supposed to be her best friend."
The off-duty officer advised King to sit in the car of another motorist who had stopped at the scene, and the defendant was heard to say "I was speeding and clowning around... going too fast and showing off". Passing sentence, judge Huw Rees said it was important for all to understand that the defendant was not being sentenced for purposeful killing but for causing death by careless driving.
