Extreme heat will continue to bake southern England throughout the weekend while the north braces for thunderstorms and flash floods.

A lower-level yellow warning for thunderstorms is in place from noon on Sunday until 6am on Monday for most of Scotland and Northern Ireland amid predictions there is a ‘small chance’ of flooding and a risk of power blackouts. Met Office warnings reveals the four-day scorcher will end with a mix of extremes in the south and north
Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service also fought embankment blazes beside a railway in Matlock, and near Junction 26 of the M1.
