Blessing Masukume, 29, was snared in Glasgow’s Springburn on June 4, 2022.Around 3am, Masukume entered a BMW and started the engine.“This was noted by a taxi driver who contacted the police with concerns over his driving.”A smell of alcohol from his breath was noted before Masukume failed a breath test.Masukume was taken into custody where a further test produced a reading of 111 micrograms in 100 millilitres of breath when the legal limit is 22 micrograms.
Masukume was locked up for 21 months in 2019 after admitting a five-hour brutal assault on his then partner.The woman reported that she"thought she was going to die" at the flat in the city's Easterhouse. Sheriff Diana McConnell ordered Masukume, of the city’s Bridgeton, today to do 144 hours of unpaid work and was disqualified from driving for 22 months.
