Hearing his mum’s desperate screams, Jakub Szymanski charged downstairs without hesitation. He was met with a scene of pure horror.
Having destroyed the family, Altaf ran, and in a desperate attempt to evade justice, he hopped into a dinghy and tried to sail across the English Channel. His pathetic attempts were futile, and he was brought back to face the consequences. Suleman Altaf, who had been stalking her home over a number of hours, had let himself in. He stood with his back against the wall, vacant eyes staring at her over a face mask, before doing what he set out to do.
Jakub was standing in the bathroom before he turned to look at his mum. Slowly he sank to the floor. He was choking on blood. After almost an hour of negotiations, Altaf agreed to abandon his plans to sail to France and onto Portugal. He was arrested and brought back to Manchester.
