Whether you watch the BBC’s Look North or ITV’s Calendar – or both – it is sure to say that the presenters have become become familiar faces in many households.

When people do step down from their presenting roles, they are often greeted with fond well-wishes from their viewers. In the last few years, the faces on Yorkshire’s regional news programmes have changed quite substantially.1. Harry Gration 'Mr Yorkshire' Harry Gration was one of the most beloved presenters in BBC Look North history. The broadcaster became a Yorkshire institution after fronting the BBC’s Look North programme between 1982 and 2020 in a career spanning more than 40 years. Bradford-born Gration announced he was leaving the BBC in 2020, one year after he become a dad for the sixth time. Tragically, the broadcasting legend died suddenly in June 2022.
