Some Scottish ghosts are only said to come out in March
You may think ghosts only come out at special 'haunted' places like castles, but there are many that are said to appear all over Scotland.
The schoolmaster's murder Firstly, if you're at Loch Assynt near Lochinver in Sutherland on March 11, you may hear some terrifying and unexplained sounds. It is believed that every year a murdered salesman re-enacts his brutal death at the hands of a debt-ridden schoolmaster desperate for gold. According to local legend, the chief of Clan MacLeod ran into financial difficulty when constructing the castle. Desperate to have a grand home worthy of his position, he made a deal with a mysterious stranger who agreed to finance the entire operation in exchange for the chief's soul.
