The Manchester United takeover process is now nine months old and there is no resolution in sight
The Glazer Family have done precious little right since taking over Manchester United and now they can't even seem to do the one thing they strongly hinted they would: sell up. That's if they even want to. A couple of days short of nine months since inviting offers, we are no closer to knowing what is going to happen next.
Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Al Thani, one of the two frontrunners alongside Sir Jim Ratcliffe, is still awaiting a response to his bid. The Manchester Evening News reported on Friday that sources are concerned the Glazers may not sell the club at all. And all this when United, under Erik ten Hag, have found a stable platform and a formula for success. The Dutchman is driven and determined, doesn't suffer fools and quickly established the Reds into something more akin to the winning machine under Sir Alex Ferguson.
