Cathy and Heath Hope are played by real life twins Gabrielle and Sebastian Dowling
Emmerdale actress Gabrielle Dowling is well known for her role as Cathy Hope on the ITV hit soap. The star's character has been at the centre of a major storyline as she battles with premenstrual dysphoric disorder, which meant she was suffering with heavy periods and major mood swings.
Cathy has since made her return to the Yorkshire village and opened up to Bob's partner Wendy and admitted that she is still struggling with her emotionally draining condition.Away from the ITV soap, actress Gabrielle’s life is a lot different to her character. The actress has a famous family - including her co-star brother and famous mother, who also shared the spotlight with her children, The Mirror reports.
Gabrielle is not the only sibling to have found success in Emmerdale, her brother, Sebastian Dowling, joined the long-running soap in 2007 and the pair also play on-screen siblings. Behind-the-scenes Louise has opened up on how the production would get her kids to cry on cue, finding a secret method to get the job done.
The twins play 16-year-olds in the soap but in actual fact, they are 17 years old. They made their soap debut when they were aged just four weeks old.
