Bosses say there's an urgent need for more flats for students, with some unable to find a place to live last year.
"The statement confirms that 'the demand for student accommodation is outstripping the available supply'. In response to this the University of Manchester offered eligible students £2,500 as an alternative to taking a room in university accommodation for the 22/23 academic year.
