The actress confirmed her departure from the BBC show on Monday after missing Saturday's week five show due to 'medical reasons'.
Despite being billed as 'ones to watch', Amanda Abbington and Giovanni Pernice exited this year's Strictly Come Dancing competition as the actress quit the show.
Fallout rumours Before this year's first live show there were rumours that Amanda and Gio were at loggerheads. Amanda agreed, insisting: "Yeah we are, we are! We do and we laugh a lot, we have the same sense of humour which is really important. So we'll come out, work hard, and then we just laugh don't we?"
The BBC confirmed the actress had dropped out on Monday night, with It Takes Two host Fleur East reading a statement during the show, saying: "Amanda Abbington is unable to continue in Strictly Come Dancing and has decided to withdraw from the competition. The show wishes her all the best for the future."
Amanda 'ignores' Giovanni Amanda went on to break her silence a day later as she shared a nondescript snap of a pair of dancing shoes. The actress failed to mention her partner Giovanni, but said: "It is with deepest regret that I had to leave Strictly. I did not come to this decision easily or lightly but for personal reasons I am unable to continue.
Cryptic comments Following the news of Amanda's absence last week but prior to quitting, Amanda issued a message to her followers. Sharing a post from an account called @positiveminds011, the story showed a picture of the late actor Robin Williams and the words: "People don't fake depression... they fake being okay. Remember that. Be kind."
