Even after investigators cracked the code and discovered the vile movie, Ashcroft continued to plead his innocence and claimed that he had been the victim of an online fraud campaign, Liverpool Echo reports.
The woman suspected that she was being lied to and reported Woods, 34, to the police. GMP's Sexual Offences Unit denied that any such investigation was taking place and Woods was subsequently arrested. He sobbed in the dock throughout the hearing as he was sentenced to 16 months imprisonment, suspended for two years, in August last year.
