Burne:"A stretch of rude pavement, from two to three hundred yards in length, known as the Devil's Causeway. "He is believed to wander this road still, and mostly appears to anyone who chooses to walk this path at midnight. 'Owd Scratch' takes the form of a man riding a white horse .
