As we enter yet another recession, it is ordinary people the Tories are looking at to foot the bill for their ongoing economic mismanagementAnd make no mistake –The Tories are preparing to rein in public spending and yes, we are all going to have to pay more in tax.It seems that whenever we are in an economic crisis, their knee jerk response is to hammer the poor by slashing public spending, rather than tackling the inhumanity of obscene wealth and tax avoidance.
Whenever there is a fiscal crisis, working people pay the price, as shown by the massive increase in poverty among those who are working since 2010. They have been in control since 2010 – and have seen wealth inequality rise, and poor Britons are grappling with the highestI say, enough is enough. Austerity 2.0 is not the answer to the crisis we face. It is time for a different approach because after 12 years of penny pinching and fiscal irresponsibility, nothing has changed.
The economy is broken; with the super-rich accumulating wealth on a gargantuan scale as working people struggle with real wages falling by 3.9%.
