Fans of the show were not impressed by tonight's challenge
Viewers of The Traitors have branded the BBC show "cruel" and "unnecessary" as contestants are buried alive in the latest challenge on Thursday night.
But those who were hiding were faced with their darkest fears, as they met in a cemetery with a number of graves dug. Moments later, host Claudia Winkleman informed them that they'd have to crawl into a coffin and be buried alive - but also that they would be in the coffin for 45 minutes. One said: "This is too cruel, unnecessary #TheTraitors ". Another added: "Would I f*** get in that coffin for 10 seconds, never mind 45 minutes. Utter p*** patter like."
A third tweeted: "Me watching the burials!!! #TheTraitors," with a panicked face emoji. Someone else wrote: "This is so scary burying someone alive. #TheTraitors "
