The US and Nato face ‘very serious’ weapons crunch that could grind Ukraine’s counteroffensive to a halt 🔴 victoria_craw
Dr Marina Miron, researcher King’s College London Defence Studies agreed that the weapon supply crisis was “very serious” with recent reports of the US running low on certain types of ammunition and weapons.
“Peer-state warfare was seen as very unlikely, hence the lack of preparation. So, now we are facing this problem as the supplies take much more time to replenish than to expend. In addition, nobody could have predicted that Ukraine would need the amounts of weapons systems, missiles, and ammo that it does.
“It would be very difficult for the Ukrainians to keep up the offensive,” he said. “If the Ukrianians run out of ammunition they won’t be able to do anything over the winter.”
