Between Christmas parties, present shopping, entertaining relatives, cooking extravagant meals and enduring the subsequent food comas, the past few weeks have left us all yearning for some proper relaxation.

To get through the January blues, most of us will be daydreaming about future holidays. In fact, research by thesuggests that almost half of the British population book days off within the first week of January. Of that figure, 34% of respondents booked four to five days off, and 30% had booked a holiday for ten days or more.

If you’re one of many Brits booking time off in the coming days, we’ve got some calendar hacks to help you stretch 16 days of statutory annual leave to a massiveThis year’s Easter bank holiday falls on Friday, 7 April and Monday, 10 April. This means you can turn eight days of annual leave into 16 days off if you book from the 3rd to the 6th, and the 11th to the 14th of April.
