Liverpool have been shopping in the Bundesliga again and midfielder Thiago Alcantara knows all about how to adapt to England
The somewhat underwhelming reaction from Liverpool supporters to the pursuit of Wataru Endo is in stark contrast to what has previously happened when a midfielder has been signed from the Bundesliga in recent times.
Almost three years have now passed since the long-teased transfer of Thiago Alcantara from Bayern Munich was completed, the Spain international arriving mere weeks after helping the German side with the Champions League. Now 32 and with no talks scheduled over extending his Anfield stay beyond his contract expiry next summer, the Saudi Pro League have already been sniffing around. Thiago, though, has opted to stay put.
That experience will prove beneficial, particularly for a midfield in which 24-year-old Alexis Mac Allister was the oldest available player for the 1-1 draw at Chelsea in the Reds' Premier League opener last Sunday. Fellow Spaniard Stefan Bajcetic - the 18-year-old similarly just back training after several months out - will learn much from his compatriot.
