A third suspect has been arrested following the deaths of British journalist Dom Phillips and Indigenous expert Bruno Pereira.
It came nearly two weeks after two men went missing in the Javari Valley bordering Peru and Colombia.
Writing on Twitter on Friday, Latin America minister Vicky Ford said: ‘I am very sad to hear confirmation Dom Phillips’s body has been identified.Officers carry a coffin containing human remains found in a remote area in the Amazon ‘We will continue to support Mr Phillips’ family, and the Brazilian authorities as the investigations proceed.’
‘Work is ongoing for a complete identification of the remains so we can determine the cause of death, and also the dynamics of the crime and the hiding of the bodies.’
