Tyrone three-time All-Ireland winner Sean Cavanagh has compared Mickey Harte's move to Derry as akin to Man Utd icon Sir Alex Ferguson taking over at Manchester City.
"I could never have imagined this happening. It’s almost like the thought of watching Peter Canavan play for Derry," said Cavanagh in his column for the Irish Daily Star. "The thought of it is fascinating and scary, as a Tyrone man who was in so many changing rooms with Mickey and bought in and believed."
"Again, I almost find it hard to accept that you would then go to what are probably Tyrone’s biggest threat and their biggest rivals. Harte knows what it takes to get to that level and Cavanagh is expecting a familiar style for the Oak Leafers in 2024.
