BREAKING: Thousands of homes and businesses in Greater Manchester hit by power cut
Thousands of homes and businesses in Salford have been left without electricity after a power cut this afternoon.
The outage was first reported at around 12.50pm, according to Electricity North West. Around 2,420 properties, mainly in the Walkden area, are believed to be affected. Engineers are on their way to the scene to assess the issue. Electricity North West currently estimates that power will be back on by around 3.50pm.A tweet posted by the provider said: "We are currently aware of a #POWERCUT in the #SALFORD area, our engineers are on their way to assess the issue.
