This work will be underway for a long time
It isn’t set to impact customers’ electricity supply but during the first stage of the work, between August 15 and 17, temporary traffic lights will be operating in Little Bushey Lane from 9.30am to 3.30pm while a temporary entrance is built to allow access to the site.
A new tower will be constructed slightly to the south of the existing tower before that tower is dismantled and the site is cleared. UK Power Networks added that it had “worked in close consultation with our partners at National Highways and other local stakeholders to keep any impact to a minimum”. The electricity distribution network operator applied for planning permission to carry out the work in February and received it in March.
