Manchester United are interested in signing Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch ahead of the transfer window closing in just over a week's time.
The Reds' midfield has attracted criticism after their first two games of this season, despite summer signing Mason Mount starting both the win over Wolves and Saturday's defeat to Tottenham Hotspur. They have lacked bite and organisation in the engine room. Slotting in alongside Casemiro The most natural role for Gravenberch to slide into at Old Trafford would be the No.8 berth alongside Casemiro. The Brazilian is United's destroyer-in-chief and is unlikely to be dislodged from that position. Mount pushes forward In the event of Fernandes ever being unavailable, Mount is the most obvious candidate to replace the United captain in the No.10 spot. The England international has spent much of his career operating as a No.10 and is capable of pulling the strings from that area of the team.
