Police said they were called to the scene in Tottington at around 12.45pm after the boy's family flagged a passing ambulance to stop while trying to drive him to hospital, but he was pronounced dead before he could be admitted.
A three-year-old boy has died in a collision with a tractor at a farm in Bury.
Police said they were called to the Tottington area at around 12.45pm after the boy's family flagged a passing ambulance to stop while trying to drive him to hospital.He had suffered critical injuries in the collision on farmland off Bentley Hall Road. Chief Inspector Ian Partington, of Greater Manchester Police, described it as a"heartbreaking incident".The driver of the tractor is assisting officers with their enquiries, along with the Health and Safety Executive.
