Shaun Offlands and Lee O'Shea have been jailed
Two Liverpool thugs with a ‘causal attitude to weapons’ have been jailed after leaving an unexploded hand grenade on a doorstep in Bury.
Randale Drive was evacuated following the discovery of the device and members of the public were advised to stay away from the area as the Army's Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit safely removed it and later conducted a controlled detonation. The man, later confirmed to be Offlands, then placed something on the ground before jumping back onto the motorbike with O’Shea.
For Offlands, Michael Johnson said that nobody was hurt in relation to the grenade, and no property was damaged.Mr Johnson added that his client was more vulnerable to exploitation due to his disadvantaged background. Offlands, of Esmond Street, Liverpool, was jailed for five years with an extended licence period of three years.
