It's often cheaper to fly than get a train

as well as staff shortages, which could lead to a rise in costs for the consumer, not to mention panic over the availability of goods.In fact, Tesco credits their use of freight trains as the reason they were able to keep their shelves stocked during the lorry driver crisis and their CEO Ken Murphy added that it was also ‘fantastic… from a sustainability point of view’.

I was recently told off by a conductor for travelling to the right destination with a ticket that was only valid on one particular brand of train. Well, no one had told me and he fined me for the privilege. But I’m glad to say the chaos and confusion over train tickets hasn’t gone completely unnoticed by our government. Back in May this year, it was announced thatwith simpler, modern fares. But will it come soon enough?
