An investigation is underway.
The attacker, wearing bright-coloured shorts and nothing on his top half, pounced on another man in Lennoxtown's Main Street on Thursday night. The incident took place at around 9.20pm.
The victim, aged 37, was rushed to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment. Police have since confirmed that the man has been released from hospital. The nature of his injuries are yet to be revealed.The only description of the suspect is that he was 'wearing bright-coloured shorts and no top'. Officers are appealing for witnesses, those with dash cam footage or any other information that could help with their probe to come forward.
Detective Constable Vikki Reid said: “Our enquiries into this incident are ongoing and I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information which may assist us to get in touch.
