While parts of Britain are to heat up, Scots should brace for more wet conditions.
Torrential downpours could spark flooding chaos in Scotland this weekend while parts of the UK bakes in unseasonably warm weather.
Forecasters have warned of persistent rain in Scotland the week which may cause flooding and disruption, while the "unseasonable" bout of warm weather will hit England at the weekend. Wet conditions are also likely to lead to public transport delays, including bus, train and ferry journeys, as well as difficult driving conditions. As such, Scots should plan any commutes in advance.
Speaking on Thursday's forecast, Met Office meteorologist Clare Nasir reported: "Through today we're seeing a lot of rain covering about two thirds of the country from time to time and also some winds that will pick up the gale force on Irish sea coasts.
