A woman in her 40s was pronounced dead at the scene
Emergency services including police, ambulance and firefighters were called to Halsall, near Southport and Ormskirk, when the woman's car came off the road at around 8.25am.
The crash happened on North Moor Lane at around 8.20am and despite the efforts of emergency responders the woman, in her 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene. A spokesperson for Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said: "At 08:19 on 17 October, two fire engines from Ormskirk attended a road traffic collision on North Moor Lane, Halsall."The incident involved one vehicle. One casualty received treatment from firefighters and North West Ambulance Service paramedics.
Lancashire Constabulary is now asking for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward. Sgt Phil Baxendale, of Lancashire Police’s Tactical Operations, said: “This incident has resulted in a woman losing her life and my thought are with her loved ones at this extremely distressing time.
“We are now working to establish the full circumstances of the collision and what caused it. I would ask any witnesses or anybody with dashcam or CCTV footage which could assist our enquiries to contact the police as soon as possible.” Anyone with information is asked to email [email protected] or call 101, quoting log 303 of October 17, 2022.
