British Transport Police Lancashire said the staff member was assaulted at Colne station. The offender is reported to have struck the train guard after being challenged for 'not having a ticket'.
Officers said the slap resulted in the victim's glasses being 'knocked onto the track'. Enquiries are ongoing to identify the passenger and no arrests have been made.In a statement post on X, formerly Twitter, this morning , British Transport Police Lancashire said: "A train guard reported being assaulted and had his glasses knocked onto the track at #Colne Station by a male challenged for not having a ticket. Enquiries ongoing.
