Train operators have warned Scots not to turn up to stations because services have been cancelled due to the extreme weather forecast
. Avanti West Coast - who run between Scotland, Carlisle, Birmingham New Street and London Euston - has withdrawn all services for the rest of today.
It comes after the UK heatwave cancelled Edinburgh trains to London today, causing travel chaos for Scots commuters. No trains have been running beyond York, and all services from Edinburgh Waverley to London Kings Cross have been suspended since 11.30am. The station posted on social media asking travellers who haven't been able to journey to Scotland via Kings Cross not to use Euston as an alternative as "it could get really busy".
