Police said a tram was damaged close to Wingrove Road and Radcliffe Road in Fleetwood and a firework was let off near to Highbury

An investigation has been launched after a tram was attacked following last night's Fleetwood vs Blackpool football match leaving a passenger with a head injury.

The rider suffered a sprained ankle and the force said his 'welfare is being addressed'. Fortunately the horse was not injured. In a statement issued this afternoon, a force spokesperson said: "We are aware of talk online about a couple of incidents which occurred last night following the Fleetwood v Blackpool match, so we wanted to let you know what we’re doing about them. The first incident occurred when a tram was damaged close to Wingrove Road and Radcliffe Road, Fleetwood, at around 10pm.

Blackpool Transport posted on X saying: "Due to Anti Social Behaviour on the trams in the Fleetwood area there are severe delays to service in this area , apologies for any inconvenience caused by this".
