Mother-of-two Heather - famed for her brutally honest blog about parental struggles, mental health battles and relationship issues - sadly passed away on Tuesday
"Mommy blogging Queen" Heather Armstrong - who rose to fame in the 00s with her illustrious parenting website Dooce - has sadly died, age 47.
Parenthood blogger Elizabeth Larson added: "Wow, I am so sad. Sending all family and friends love. Dooce was the first blog I ever loved and grew my love for photography and design." When she first launched her website, she used it as a means of documenting her experience with leaving the Mormon church, later embarking onto her own career and forming relationships with those around her.
Associated Press and the New York Times have since claimed that the origin of Heather's site name was an inside joke that jibed at her lack of ability to spell out the word "dude" quickly in online forums. Her online platform Dooce received an incredible eight million visitors a month at its peak, according to Vox, and in 2009 she was named in Forbes' annual list of the 30 most influential women in media.
