Manchester City enjoyed another dominant win at the Etihad on Saturday with Phil Foden the standout player.
Newcastle United defender Kieran Trippier praised the 'fantastic' Phil Foden but admitted his side gave the Manchester City star too much space during Saturday's 1-0 defeat.
It was one of seven big chances created by the City academy product, who enjoyed life in a more central role with both Kevin De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva absent. He could have had more assists, had Erling Haaland managed to take one of the several chances handed to him. "There’s a lot to work on but Man City are one of the best teams in Europe for a reason. We came here to compete and this is the level we want to be at."
"I thought with the pace we had upfront there’ll always be a chance," Trippier added. "There was an opportunity for Wilson where he took the ball in a three-v-one and, listen, it wasn't meant to be today."
