With little history of wine-drinking and unfavourable weather, developing vineyards in India is tough work.

Given that India's climate is generally not kind to grapes, some entrepreneurs are betting on fruit wines. Called Naara Aaba, it has a 13% alcohol content and became India's first-ever organic wine made from kiwi fruit. Kiwi wine is produced in much the same way as wine from grapes. Ripe fruit is juiced and fermented, taking three to four months to produce a batch of wine.
