'It just turned into carnage'
People watched in horror as fireworks flew into the crowd when a Bonfire Night display went wrong.
The impromptu explosion happened when a hot end from a firework landed in a tipper truck at Ringwood Raceway on Saturday night. Fireworks exploded for about three minutes before marshalls at the event in Matchams, Dorset, could get the blaze under control.‘Did you enjoy that? You aren’t going to see that anywhere else.’
Aaron Orchard, 22, from Hampshire, attended the banger racing and fireworks event with his partner Fay Lucas and captured the explosions on camera.Truck full of fireworks explodes Orchard said: ‘The van just exploded and chucked up like mushroom clouds and everybody just started running.‘There were hundreds of cars parked about 30 metres from where it happened so fireworks were hitting cars and everyone was running away from the fence.Another eyewitness said after it happened the organisers apologised and said if anyone was injured to get checked out.A Dorset fire service spokesman said they attended at 9.23pm but the fire had already been extinguished when they arrived.
