Jimmy Savile’s terrible crimes have been brought back to the foreground through BBC drama The Reckoning.
Opening a MailOnline column, Mr Neil stated: “The Reckoning was distressing for me not just because it was about an evil predator who preyed on the young and defenceless, but because it brought back unpleasant memories of my own encounter with him in a Channel 4 studio in 1995.”In recent years, the interview has often been referenced in documentaries as a moment where Savile as a subtle reference to the terrible child abuse and sexual crimes he hide behind his public persona.
“The truth is that we didn't know the half of it, despite our best efforts, which proved to be inadequate.”
