Elon Musk has handed back blue ticks to some Twitter accounts with more than one million followers – without them paying for it.
, verified with a blue check from their paid subscriptions, more changes have come about.
Now, the infamous blue tick is being phased out for ‘legacy’ accounts – that is, anyone not prepared to pay. Mr Musk has claimed that he paid for the subscriptions himself on behalf of the author Stephen King, the actor William Shatner and the basketball player Lebron James who had all criticised the scheme.
