The pair used the sneaky scheme to syphon off thousands from the Glasgow health budget.
A nurse who teamed up with a colleague in a scheme which saw them paid for non-existent shifts has been struck off.
Her fraud was uncovered when her line manager became suspicious after her budget for temporary staff was overspent in July 2018.Accountants looked at figures between January and July 2018 which revealed 18 shifts had been added retrospectively to the payment system by O'Callaghan and her colleague, only known as Colleague A.
An earlier email from O'Callaghan which said: "'I have decided to leave my job as fraud does not look right on any CV and confirm that I will voluntarily leave NMC as I do not wish to nurse again." In a written ruling, Paul O'Connor, chair of the NMC panel, said: "The panel was of the view that Mrs O'Callaghan has not taken any steps to remediate the charge found proved nor does she wish to practise again as a registered nurse.
