Two Hertfordshire restaurants have been nominated for the 2023 Asian Restaurant and Takeaway Awards.

Zaffran One in St Albans and Raj of India in Welwyn Garden City have both made it as finalists for the awards.Finalists have been invited alongside MPs and celebrities for the ceremony which is being presented by BBC presenters Samantha Simmonds and Paul Martin.Other awards which will be presented on the night include Champions of Champions, National Chef of the Year and National Takeaway of the Year.

The awards will be honouring the UK’s Pan Asian cuisine and will be bring together chefs and restaurant staff from across the country.We want our comments to be a lively and valuable part of our community - a place where readers can debate and engage with the most important local issues.
