A visit to either town could cure your itchy feet
Scots searching for a staycation have been pointed in the direction of Dundee and Queensferry by a new list which names the 'unsung corners' of Britain.
The two Scottish entries on the list highlighted Dundee as a creative hub and its proximity to 'genuinely wild' landscape. As for Queensferry, the town was lauded for its sights for its bridge views and history along with one 'weird' local event. The newspaper also spotlighted the Maritime Trail, the HMS Unicorn and Verdant Works, a restored mill that now tells the story of Dundee's industrial textile roots.
Queensferry featured as the second Scottish town on the list. Set just half an hour from Edinburgh, its unique views of the Forth Bridge, the Forth Road Bridge and the Queensferry Crossing were noted.Military buffs were called to the town for its historical ties. Queensferry was the site of German bombings and also where the Royal Navy set off for the Battle of Jutland.
