🔴 UK experiences hottest day on record as temperature reaches 39.1°C in Surrey
The UK has experienced its hottest day on record, with the temperature reaching 39.1°C in Charlwood, Surrey, according to provisional Met Office figures.
But the record is unlikely to hold for long, with the Met Office forecasting temperatures to reach as high as 41°C later today in some parts of eastern England. Blistering heat has hit Britain again after Monday saw the mercury reached a high of 38.1°C in Santon Downham,
