Next, Igor Gilov with Brazilian newspaper Folha De S.Paolo is expected to ask:"You assess the Ukrainian crisis as a major confrontation between the collective West and Russia. Your government earlier spoke of the 'red lines' that the US and NATO mustn’t cross. In Kyiv, he said Mr Putin"expressed the idea that he is ready for negotiations" with Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
On 30 September, Mr Putin said the US had created a"precedent" by dropping atomic bombs on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in August 1945; Denmark and Sweden have concluded four Nord Stream leaks were caused by explosions last month. They have not said who might be responsible, though world leaders have called it an act of sabotage - with fingers pointing at Russia, who of course have denied any involvement.
We can expect to hear more of that. The Valdai Discussion Club's website says that they are ready to explain to foreign participants the causes and consequences of what is currently happening in Ukrainian-Russian relations - you'll notice that they phrase that very carefully given it is illegal to say the word"war" in this country.
