Ukrainian ground commander claims Russians are retreating near Bakhmut
Colonel Syrskyi said the defensive operation exhausted the forces of the Wagner Group and forced Moscow to replace them with less trained regular army units, who were defeated and retreated. The mercenary group leader was asked about comments by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy that Ukraine's counteroffensive had been delayed while his forces waited for more aid from foreign countries.
