In our 9.47am post we shared photos from Serhii Lysak, an official in the Dnipro region, of wreckage from an overnight missile strike that fortunately caused no casualties.
Although these strikes might not appear connected, they are in fact a coordinated attack on the Russian military logistic re-supply lines. Crimea could be resupplied by sea using the port of Sevastopol, but Ukraine has been targeting Black Sea Fleet ships to expose the vulnerability of this route. This forces Russian logistics convoys to use the westerly access routes, which are longer and also pass much closer to Ukrainian military forces.
Ukraine's long-awaited spring offensive is now well underway, but has been criticised for showing relatively sluggish progress, with few notable successes so far.
