Manchester’s Ukrainian Independence Day will be taking place at the Ukrainian Cultural Centre in Cheetham Hill
Ukrainian Independence Day is just around the corner and Manchester will be celebrating the day by giving the public a wide range of cultural aspects to try out
Last year, Manchester opened the ‘MCR Ukraine Welcome Fund’ and has raised around £70,000. The fund helps support Ukrainian families who have moved to Manchester with small grants to get essential items.Manchester’s Ukrainian Independence Day will take place at the Ukrainian Cultural Centre in Cheetham Hill and will start at 1pm and stay open till late.
This is a great opportunity for the public to learn more about the country of Ukraine, meet Ukrainian people and other cultures from around Manchester and celebrate their independence. Councillor Luthfur Rahman, Deputy Leader of Manchester City Council, said: “Manchester has a large and rich Ukrainian community, the city is proud to stand with them and our thoughts are with those who have lost loved ones in the conflict.
