Universal Credit rates will increase from April
April marks the beginning of the 2023/24 financial year, with most Universal Credit claimants set to see their payments increase by 10.1 per cent.
Couples in the same household - classed as joint claimants - will receive £458.51 per month if they are under 25, increased from £416.45. Joint claimants will get £578.82 if at least one of them is over 25 - increased from £525.72. First-child payments to parents with children born before April 6, 2017 will increase from £290 to £315, with payments for children born after April 2017 and second child/additional children increasing to £269.58 from £255.58 per month
