Thousands of benefit claimants are being moved on to Universal Credit, the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has confirmed
Department for Work and Pensions benefits are set to drastically change for households right across the United Kingdom. And the change will come into place within a matter of days.
From October, individuals claiming tax credits are being moved over to Universal Credit. It's a move that's been a long time coming, with letters already sent to those impacted informing them on how to make the switch. The process is part of a 'managed migration' which began last year and will continue until 2025. The process will expand to all regions of the UK next month. Speaking in September, DWP Minister for Employment, Guy Opperman MP, said terminating benefits would be a last resort.
