University of Sussex students could pocket thousands of pounds if they get fully vaccinated againstEvery student is being automatically entered into a draw – unless they opt out – and 10 of them could each win a jackpot prize of £5,000.Around 70% of those aged 18-29 in England have so far had a Covid vaccine, according to the Department of Health.
Sussex vice-chancellor Professor Adam Tickell said the move was not about ‘bribing’ students to get vaccinated, but offering an incentive to. ‘If they can prove they’ve been double vaccinated, or indeed if they are medically exempt, we’ll make them [eligible for] the award.’The prize draw will take place at the end of November to give students time to get vaccinated.
He said: ‘We know that many students will have already had their vaccines or are planning to.
